I drove out to the U today to meet Kristen for lunch. I followed my directions, found Kristen's work with no issues, filled the meter and called Kristen to announce my arrival. We headed out for a very yummy lunch at Paninos. Once we were done eating Kristen mentioned she wanted to take me up to her office to show me the view of the new stadium from way up high. We stopped at my car and dropped off my leftover lunch. I glanced at the meter "16 minutes--ahhh I should be just fine." We went upstairs walked around a bit, checked out the views of the stadium, laughed at a few cartoons, and I was on my way. Sounds like it fit into 16 minutes right. WRONG. It actually took me 18 minutes and in those 2 minutes I managed to have "Super Friendly U Traffic Lady Cop" ticket me. I walked up, realized I was a few minutes beyond my metered time, and saw her writing me up a nice ticket. She got out of her car, walked up to me, handed me the ticket and walked away. She didn't even say a word to me. I mumbled under my breath "I am 2 minutes late." I am sure she hears that line each time she sees the actual people she tickets--but this time, it was true! So instead of having a $10.00 lunch with my friend, I had a $10.00 lunch with my friend and then I donated another $34.00 to the University of Minnesota.
Let this be a lesson--put the extra quarter into the meter just in case.

That totally sucks! I would have done the same thing, but now I will put the extra money in! Hope the lunch and company were good!
Stupid rent-a-cops. She was probably sitting there waiting until the meter expired. Next time we'll know!
