Naked Barbies

Mallory has a great imagination. She loves to pretend to feed her dolls (Stella and Judy), loves cooking for us, she makes boats out of couch cushions and pretends that she is in alligator infested water, and she has really taking a liking for her Barbies. I picked up a Barbie car last summer at a garage sale, Mallory hasn't really started playing with it until recently. She takes the dolls--whatever ones she can jam into the car and drives the car around the house. She uses her best girl imitation of a car driving, which sounds exactly like "vrrom vrooom". She drives them to the store, the library, the beach, wherever she feels they need to go at any given point. The problem with the Barbies is her inability to clothe them. This means, you guessed it, Barbie usually struts around the house buck naked. It doesn't seem to bother Mallory and usually says the Barbies are going swimming so that is why they don't have clothes on. This part of Mallory's imagination makes me a little nervous. She has never been to a nude beach and whenever we swim we certainly wear swimsuits.

As you can see driver Barbie and passenger Barbie are enjoying a nice ride in the convertible. Stella is a bit daring as she rides on the back of the car "parade style"

This next one was taken a few nights later after Barbie 1 and Barbie 2 had a fun evening of jumping off the diving board (grandma's lap) into the pool (the floor). Poor panty-less Barbies.

I am not saving money for therapy just yet. I am hoping that once the fine motor skills get a bit more defined, Mallory will start to find some snazzy outfits for her dolls to wear.
