I had a blog moment today. I went to visit my old college campus, good old UWRF. Now as a sophomore when my friends and I would be walking from class to the student center we would see these certain types of people and giggle to ourselves saying that one day, that would be us...
Well today it happened. The following story is true. Very true and made me feel all of my married 28, mother of a two year old, and a mini van driver. I picked up my former college roomies (who at this point will remain nameless since I don't have their permission to post their names on the Internet) However, I will describe them and some of you may be able to figure out who I am talking about. I picked them up in my minivan (now you need to make a mental picture of all of this so that you can get the full effect). Two car seats loaded into the van, two mommies, one momma to be and one very soon to be bride all packed into the van and headed down I94 in search of some old memories and good laughs.
"Oh Wow! Look at ALL those houses over there!" "LOOK! Shopko is still there--but with a nice new sign!" "Hey Cran--Remember when you tripped on that very curb right there..."
So we park, walk down the streets of RF with 2 strollers in the lead and I already feel ages away from those we see. Ipods in ears, talking on cellphones and coffee in hand, I cannot believe how life has changed for the late teen-young 20 year olds that are walking on this campus.
We walk through the new student center that looks great, but feels so vastly different than the RF we once knew.
I leave feeling all of my 28 years old, feeling very much a mother of a toddler. I also leave reliving tons of memories and very happy that my time at college was spent making memories that will live with me forever. Thanks for the great day ladies!
