Change is in the air…

After four years of school, studying, and training, somebody is about to go to work and no longer needs a trainer over his shoulder watching his every move.
That is a big change…

Somebody is a month away from turning two.  She knows how to play “hide and seek”, she knows how to climb up on the furniture-including into the EidAway, and we are teaching her to say “twoooo” and she is willingly attempting to mimic us.
That is a big change…

Somebody is living in the moment of summer.  She loves the freedom, rarely asks about preschool, and is really really excited about starting at her new school in just 2 months. That is a big change (well some of it)…

Somebody is about to turn 32.  She will pack a bunch of boxes, label them with “Kitchen. Bedroom. Basement.”, hire a truck of movers and move her family across town.
That is a REALLY big change.

You read it all correctly.  This winds of change are blowing and we are about to let go of our kite and let it soar as the winds blow.  After much consideration and late night discussions on doing what is “right”, we have been blessed with the opportunity to move back to Woodbury and purchase my parents home.  I know what you are thinking…the Garden!!!  Ha. Kidding—sort of?  We may be slightly crazy (which is probably what you were really thinking) but we couldn’t be more excited about our summer move.  My dad has been hinting for months about Brent and I “buying the farm” and we finally approached him about it.  He is ready to downsize which means giving up a bunch of unused space and yard maintenance he no longer enjoys.  We are ready to spread our wings, enjoy the yard and bigger house, and make some changes to make the place feel like our home.  We will be four miles from my dad and five miles from my mom.  I could not be more excited about that fact alone.  Will we be farther away from some close friends and family?  Absolutely, but we’ve promised it won’t change too many things and we are committed to that promise.  We also have decided to keep the news from my mom until things have settled and we find the right way to share our news. If you visit with Pat, please respect our wishes.

So. Get ready for some amazing “before and after” pictures as we attempt to DIY some fun projects around the house.  Brent has some grand ideas for a play house in the woods and my sister and I cannot wait to get our hands on an entire basement fit for two little girls!

Oh and this somebody?  She cannot wait for the big yard to run free.  The thoughts of snacks of rabbit poo fill her dreams as she patiently waits for August 1st.2011-06-21 001 013

Okay, I just have to throw this out there: Do you know how many cool vinyl designs could go in that house---and particularly, the playroom?! Giant growth chart, anyone?!
