It's the friends that you can call at 4am that matter.

Meet Mikayla's middle of the night friends. Who knew a 6 week old baby would become such close friends with the oddly shaped, brightly colored, wobbling farm animals that hang above her head as she lays in her crib. Mallory had the same adoration for the flock when she was a baby, but she enjoyed their company much more during the day. Not Mikayla. Did we expect anything different with this little girl. Nope. Night falls, she gets a good 4 hours of sleep, her belly is full, a clean diaper, and she is all set to hang out with her friends...at 1am. I try and rock her until she is drowsy enough to drift off to sleep. I have her all snuggled in her blanket. I lay her in her crib oh so carefully. Then she looks up at her farm friends and the party begins. While the rest of the house is quiet and dark, she coos, she smiles, she even squeals.
Don't get me wrong I am delighted to see her happy and content. However, I could do with the crib partying during the day and not the wee hours of the morning. But that's Mikayla--throwing us for a loop each and every day...
