Now that title may sound negative but I have been having a sort of week that I couldn't put into words until I heard this quote. I heard it, after I finished laughing and saying "so true" I said to myself, out loud, "That is what my week has been all about." Ok Ok, if you have children you can COMPLETELY understand this quote. If you have don't have kids then you probably don't believe you could ever feel this way about your own offspring. Just Wait.
My child loves to talk. I know its not the first time I have told all of you, if you haven't already experienced for yourself. Don't worry, I know exactly where she got it from--thanks Brent. She not only loves to talk but she is so curious. Curious beyond her years.
A ride to the zoo on Wednesday went something like this (Mallory in bold, me not so bold)
Mommy, mommy! (yes most of the time she calls my name more than once peck peck peck) Where are we going first?
To Apple Valley Ford
Why we need to go to Appee Valley Ford?
Because we forgot to give the pumpkins to Molly on Monday so we are dropping them off at work with Craig
Why we forgot to give dem their punkins?
Because it was pouring rain when we got there AND when we left
Why was it pouring rain?
Because.
Can I hear the snowman song? Is that baby dolphin out of the mommy's tummy yet? peck peck peck
Here is the snowman song and no the baby dolphin is still growing inside the mommy's tummy
Why is that dolphin still growing?
Because it is not big enough to come out yet. Listen to your snowman song
This is just a snippet of conversation. As long as it took for you to read it is as quick as the conversations move around here.
Round 2--Friday Best Buy parking lot
Picture this: Mallory and I walk out of Best Buy after spending 30 minutes attempting to look for a few CD's, a birthday present and do an exchange. We walk out to the car and this is how it went
Mommy! Mommy! (peck peck peck) Blue is my favorite! See that blue car that is my favorite!!
Yeah I see that. It is a pretty blue car. Maybe one day you can buy yourself a pretty blue car.
Yeah! A vertible blue car like my barbie one! (That translates into convertible)
So we are going to get into the van and because you were a good listener in the store we can go to the park before we go home. (This really sounds like Momma Duggar like but I do tell her what to expect and what the plans are)
Yippeee! I going to da park! I going to da park! Mommy Mommy? Can you see out that windshield up there? (pointing to our windshield as she is getting strapped into her car seat)
Yes I can. You better hope I can see out the windshield or how would I drive?
But how do you see out of it?
With my eyes--just the same way you look out the windows.
Oh so because you have a head you can see you the window? But daddy says you are short so its a good thing we have a BIG window for you to see out. You have to move that seat way up high. Look deres a doggy in that car over there!!! A white doggy, but whites not my favorite because blue is my favorite. Can we go to the park now?
And the pecking continues. Pregnant, up all night with a newborn, trying to decipher the one word or one sign clues I got from my young toddler, I longed for the days of pecking. I am also certain that there will come a day when I will miss the pecking. She will be too old and I will be too uncool to talk too. But for now, the pecking continues and for a few days it has been getting to me...onward we march.

Lol! Oh, how the last part entertained me.
You deserve a world's best mommy, mommy award :)
Just get out your video camera so that one day when you are feeling a little bit less pecked to death you can listen to all kinds of stories about frickets and vertibles (waterworks optional).
Did I ever tell you about the boy I nannied last year? At least Mallory uses more than one word to ask a question. His two key phrases were Why (pronounced...wooooooooi?) and "Me WHAN-i!" (which translates, of course, to "Me Want It.")
Treasure the double mommy's and windshield inquisitions for all they're worth.
Oh my gosh! I am in hysterics! I wish I could tag a long with you guys for a day, I probably would laugh all day! All I can say is that you are getting pack backs I am sure of it! That is so funny! Anyway, thanks for sharing your stories with us. I love them and look forward to reading them. I love you!!
