Remember
our very own corn maze? It was harvest time for the farmer this past week and it was it so neat to watch the big Combine tear up all the stalks, husk the corn, and spit everything else out but the corn kernels. We marched back to the field a few times to watch the progress. I'll admit, both Mallory and I were in awe of this process. The combine was huge (though according to Brent not nearly as big as he has seen). Really, who am I to judge his farm hand experience... Anyways, we walked back with Gary, we all waved at the farmer (like big nerds) and next thing we know the farmer is backing up his combine to come and talk to us. According to Farmer Joe the crop is great this year!
Of course I took pictures. I couldn't help myself. It amazes me that this corn field has been harvested each year for 17 years and this is the first time I have truly paid attention to what was going on beyond the grass in that little corn field...
