Mallory spent the day with Grandma, Grandpa and Caleb today while we played "While You Were Out" with her bedroom. We emptied it out, took down the crib (quiet sobs from mommy), painted the room, and put up a big girl bed! She came home tonight to greet her new bed and fell in love with it. We bought her a new fun lamp that she loves and a brand new monkey to sleep with. She now sleeps with the following: Mr. Elephant, Sheepy, Curious George, Rabbit, Stripes (blanket), and Star and Moon (another blanket), and the new monkey. NO WONDER SHE NEEDED A BIGGER BED!
I might jinx myself, but I will risk it for the sake of the blog--it took her 7 minutes of talking and rolling around and now she is out like a light--in her big girl bed. WOW! I really thought she would be one of those kids that got up and out of bed a million times before they actually fall asleep, on the floor next to their bed. Now I know, things can still change, but hey I'll take this for the first night...
Let's hope the sandman is good to us tonight! Once the pictures get hung on the wall I'll post pictures of the room and Mallory in her bed--I know you are all waiting on pins and needles!
